Stroke Consultation Window
Stroke Consultation is available at Kano General Hospital for patients who are currently hospitalized or have previously been hospitalized at our hospital due to stroke, as well as for their families.
The desk helps patients and families talk about concerns after stroke. These may include caregiving, social support, life after discharge, and returning to work, school, or daily activities.
Stroke Consultation for Patients and Families
Kano General Hospital offers this service for people who would like to discuss worries related to stroke. A patient may use the service during hospitalization. A former patient or family member may also contact the desk after discharge.
Certified stroke care counselors support the service. The team includes physicians, nurses, pharmacists, registered dietitians, rehabilitation specialists, and social workers. They listen to each concern and help the patient or family consider the next step.
Topics You Can Discuss
You can ask about many concerns that may come up after stroke. For example, you may want to talk about care at home, the use of support systems, or how to prepare for life after leaving the hospital.
- Post-stroke caregiving
- Social support systems, including high-cost medical expense benefits and long-term care insurance
- Life after discharge from the hospital
- Returning to work, school, or other parts of social life
In addition, families may contact the desk when they do not know where to begin. Staff can review the concern and guide the patient or family to the right hospital service.
Privacy and Support
The hospital handles consultation details with care. Patients and families will not face any disadvantage by using the service.
※ Consultation details are kept confidential.
