The Role of Anesthesiology

The Department of Anesthesiology is a clinical department that supports patients undergoing surgery so they can face their procedures safely and with peace of mind.

Anesthesiologists assess the patient’s condition before surgery and manage anesthesia during the operation, constantly monitoring respiration and circulation. To minimize side effects, they manage postoperative pain and treat nausea or vomiting.

• Our department actively incorporates nerve blocks to minimize postoperative pain.
• Since April 2026, a specialized Postoperative Pain Management Team has been providing tailored care.

Advanced Pain Control

Nerve Blocks

A nerve block administers local anesthesia near nerves using an ultrasound device. Combining this with general anesthesia effectively reduces postoperative pain and the need for systemic pain medication, leading to fewer side effects like nausea and faster recovery.

Postoperative Pain Management Team (APS)

This multidisciplinary team (anesthesiologists, nurses, and pharmacists) ensures smooth recovery. They regularly monitor pain intensity and side effects, providing optimal relief so patients don’t have to endure “natural” postoperative pain.
