Urology

Department Introduction

The Department of Urology handles organs involved in the production and excretion of urine (kidneys, ureters, bladder, urethra), male reproductive organs (prostate, testes, vas deferens), and the adrenal glands, which secrete hormones vital to the body.
Please feel free to consult with us if you experience symptoms such as difficulty urinating, frequent urination, urinary leakage, pain during urination, blood in the urine, or swelling and pain in the genitals.
In this era of 100-year lifespans, the importance of urology is growing ever greater. We aim to contribute not only to our patients’ health but also to the improvement of their Quality of Life (QOL).

Clinical Policy

Surgical Treatments Performed

We perform endoscopic surgery for benign prostatic hyperplasia and bladder cancer.
For benign prostatic hyperplasia, we introduced WAVE therapy (Water Vapor Energy Therapy) in July 2024. Although this is a new procedure approved in Japan in 2021, it is a patient-friendly technique with short operative times and few complications.
Additionally, we perform castration (bilateral orchidectomy) for prostate cancer and surgery for phimosis.

WAVE Therapy Certified Facility

What is WAVE Therapy?

WAVE therapy is a minimally invasive treatment for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) that uses the heat of water vapor to shrink enlarged prostate tissue. It is designed to be gentler on the body compared to traditional surgery.

Treatment Flow

  • 1. A thin delivery device is inserted through the urethra.
  • 2. 103°C water vapor is released for 9 seconds.
  • 3. The tissue naturally shrinks and is absorbed by the body.
