Emergency Medicine Center<\/h2>\n

Kano General Hospital provides emergency care for people who need help right away. The Emergency Center is open 24 hours a day, every day of the year. In addition, it accepts patients who arrive by ambulance from the local community.<\/p>\n

First, our staff check the patient\u2019s condition. Next, doctors and other medical staff decide what care is needed. When necessary, the center also works with internal medicine, surgery, orthopedics, and neurosurgery.<\/p>\n

Message from the Director of the Emergency Center<\/h3>\n

I am Seiji Ogita<\/strong>. I became Director of the Emergency Center at Kano General Hospital in April 2021. Before this role, I worked in neurosurgery and emergency medicine. Therefore, I have long cared for patients with many types of illness and injury.<\/p>\n

As Japan\u2019s population ages, emergency patients often have more than one health problem. For this reason, teamwork is very important. Our center can act quickly because several departments work together.<\/p>\n

In addition, the Emergency Center connects each patient with the right medical team. We also try to match care to the patient\u2019s needs. As a result, patients can move smoothly to tests, treatment, or hospital care.<\/p>\n

Kano General Hospital has supported local emergency care for many years. The hospital was officially designated for emergency care in 1969. Since then, it has continued to accept people who need urgent medical care.<\/p>\n

Today, the hospital accepts more than 5,000 ambulance transports each year<\/strong>. However, acceptance may depend on the patient\u2019s condition and on the staff, beds, and equipment available at that time.<\/p>\n

24-Hour Emergency Medicine System<\/h3>\n

Doctors are on-site at night and on holidays. In addition, nurses, laboratory staff, radiology staff, and pharmacists support emergency care. Therefore, the hospital can respond to many urgent cases at any time.<\/p>\n

The Emergency Center mainly works with internal medicine, surgery, orthopedics, and neurosurgery. For example, patients may need care for sudden illness, injury, severe pain, or other urgent symptoms.<\/p>\n

After the first check, the center may contact another department. Then, the patient may receive tests, treatment, hospital admission, or a referral. The next step depends on the patient\u2019s condition.<\/p>\n
