They are often itchy. There are acute and chronic types; acute hives subside within one month, while those lasting longer than a month are considered chronic. Most cases are idiopathic hives, where the cause is unknown. Treatment involves antihistamines. It is important to continue taking the medication for a while even after symptoms disappear.

Athlete’s Foot (Tinea Pedis)

This often occurs on the feet or between the nails. When it affects the nails, it is called nail tinea (onychomycosis). Symptoms include the nails becoming cloudy white or brown and thickening. In the dermatology department, a small skin sample is taken and examined under a microscope. Treatments include topical and oral medications.

Acne

Caused by sebum accumulating in the pores. Various treatment methods are available depending on the symptoms. Please consult a doctor for the most appropriate method. Essential aspects of skincare include makeup removal and washing your face twice a day.

Common Warts (Verruca Vulgaris)

Caused by a human papillomavirus (HPV) infection in the skin, resulting in shiny, skin-colored, hemispherical elevated rashes. Treatment involves cryotherapy, where an ultra-low temperature liquid (liquid nitrogen) is applied with a cotton swab to repeatedly freeze and thaw the affected area infected by the virus.

Seborrheic Dermatitis

This occurs in areas with high sebum secretion, such as the head and face. Symptoms include skin redness and itching. We provide treatment tailored to the symptoms. It is recommended to avoid excessive intake of spices, eat a balanced diet, avoid sleep deprivation, and manage stress.

Shingles (Herpes Zoster)

A tingling or pricking pain occurs along a nerve on one side of the body, followed by redness and blisters. The cause is the varicella-zoster virus, which reactivates due to decreased physical strength or immunity. Treatment involves oral or intravenous antiviral drugs and topical medications.

Dermatology Features of the Department We provide medical care for all types of skin conditions across the bod […]
