Message from the Director of the Stroke Center<\/h3>\n

<\/p>\n

Stroke is a disease that occurs suddenly and can drastically change a person’s life. In recent years, advances in hyperacute treatments\u2014such as intravenous t\u2011PA therapy and mechanical thrombectomy\u2014along with surgical procedures, perioperative management, and rehabilitation, have made it possible to greatly improve outcomes when appropriate treatment is delivered within the appropriate time window<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Throughout my career in acute stroke care, neurosurgical treatment, and endovascular therapy, I have witnessed many cases where even small differences in the initial response dramatically influenced a patient’s future. Drawing on this experience, I aim to establish a safer and higher\u2011quality stroke care system here at Kano General Hospital.<\/p>\n

At Kano General Hospital’s Stroke Center, we serve as a core facility supporting the northern and northeastern areas of Osaka City. Our emergency department, radiology division, intensive care, and rehabilitation teams work together to maintain a system capable of responding rapidly to stroke 24 hours a day, 365 days a year<\/strong>. For each patient, we carefully select the most appropriate treatment\u2014medication, endovascular therapy, or open surgery\u2014based on their condition, always striving to deliver “the best possible care at this moment.”<\/p>\n

If you notice facial drooping, weakness in the arms or legs, slurred speech, or a sudden severe headache\u2014even if the symptoms seem minor or unusual<\/strong>\u2014do not hesitate to call emergency services or seek immediate medical attention. Our center aims to provide comprehensive care\u2014from acute treatment to postoperative management, recurrence prevention, and post\u2011discharge support. We are committed to becoming a trusted stroke center within the regional healthcare network by simplifying referral pathways and strengthening collaboration.<\/p>\n

We will continue to steadily and reliably enhance the quality of care and teamwork within the hospital while building a strong track record.<\/p>\n
